Casualidades New Album
(Manolo Tena)
Manolo Tena’s latest album represents a rupture between two periods of his life: Casualidades is a celebration of winning his battle against addiction, heralding a new fresh start.
We used a ‘torn page’ effect as a metaphor for the rupture, a change from one period to another, and as a nod to the street rock that has kept the artist company through good and bad times.
About Manolo Tena
Singer-songwriter Manolo Tena was one of the most popular artists of Madrid’s rock scene during the 1980s. Among his most acclaimed hits are ‘Frío’, ‘Tocar Madera’ and ‘Sangre Española’. He also wrote numerous hits for artists such as Ana Belén, Luz Casal, Rosario Flores and Ricky Martin.
The album booklet is conceived as an artist’s book with each song as a unique piece, a story represented through a visual poem. We designed and photographed custom still life scenes using day-to-day objects to give the storytelling a colourful and intimate approach – reflecting Manolo’s new outlook on life.
Promotional Campaign
On this one, we’ve had our finger in several pies. Aside from designing the album itself, we also developed promotional material for the release and premiere of Manolo’s biographical documentary – including posters, invitations, t-shirts and other graphic material. And to top it off, we got to create the animated intro to the documentary!
