Cocota Studio was founded in 2017. After 10 years of working separately in the design field, Carmen and Rubén decided to join forces to complement their skillsets as professionals and people. Since then, they have continued to add to their team people they admire.

Rubén’s superpower is the creation of efficient solutions. He translates experiences and concepts into coherent and carefully drafted graphic systems, whether involving interfaces or flexible visual identities.

Fascinated since he was a kid by what makes a song a hit, a meal an unforgettable experience or a book a collector’s item, Rubén has studied at the Madrid School of Design.

When he is not at the studio, he creates experimental typography, improves his design skills and watches series on Netflix. He can dance like a pro and is our favourite greenfluencer.

Rubén García

Creative Director

Listening and moving forward are Carmen’s key principles. She leads Cocota, and is responsible for strategy and brand management.

After starting her career as a designer for the museum of the Art Institute of Chicago, her interests have focused equally on creativity and business development. She teaches branding to entrepreneurs at the EOI Business School in Madrid.

Carmen enjoys the mountains and is always keen to meet new people.

Ana’s areas of specialty range from the audiovisual and design world to window dressing. She is a key actor when it comes to developing projects swiftly and with foolproof planning.

She started recording interviews for television more than 10 years ago. Her work has taken her from Istanbul to Cologne to Barcelona, where she has been able to put to good use her innate talent for challenging the status quo and her decisive mindset.

You can often find her practising aerial dance or at a concert in one of Madrid’s bars.

Ana Nadal

Marta is our illustration and editorial design master. She infuses every project with personality as well as close attention to detail and consistency.

After earning a master’s in Editorial Design & Digital Media at IED Madrid, Marta has worked on multiple branding strategies, illustration projects and publications for cultural institutions like the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid.

In her free time Marta reads books, takes photos and creates ceramic masterpieces, always in her customary black outfits.

Marta Gutiérrez

A branding specialist, Ana has a foolproof eye for designing graphics for physical spaces and merchandising projects.

She graduated in Design from the Universidad de la Laguna in her native Tenerife, and has a master’s degree in Branding from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Ana’s previous work experience has been in the fashion and health industries.

After spending his childhood in Brazil, Pedro arrived in Spain with tons of stories to share and chose art as his vehicle. He started participating in events and exhibitions as an urban artist, later exploring photography and video.

In the last 8 years and having worked for agencies such as Serial Cut and Sra Rushmore, he has specialized in CGI, creating 3D animations for brands such as Coca Cola, Nespresso, Vodafone or El Ladrón de Manzanas. His love for video games has also led him to organize and cast eSport tournaments.

As a good foodie lover, he travels often to live authentic gastronomic experiences, being Asturias his all-time favorite destination.

Pedro Sega

3D & Motion Designer

In the dictionary, under the term ‘pixel-perfect’, there’s a picture of Mariola. Designer by education and detail-oriented by nature, she combines her conceptual talent and her service-orientation with flawless execution.

In a hyper-digital world, her triple technical degree – in Digital Preprinting, Graphic Production Design and Management, and Graphical Advertising – makes Mariola a fount of wisdom when it comes to die-cut creations and final artwork for physical spaces and stands.

Beyond the screen, she enjoys basking in the sun on the beaches of her native Getxo and taking photos of interesting figurative elements in her day-to-day life.

Mariola Urcelay

Graphic Designer

Natasha is a glass-half-full kind of person. She came to Spain from Russia to attend a music festival and never left.

With a degree in Business Administration, she joined Cocota in 2021 after several years working in administration and office assistant roles in the technology and pharmaceutical industries. Natasha applies her bucketloads of ingenuity to solve all the administrative challenges that arise in the studio, keeping everything organised and shipshape with her meticulous Excels!

Outside of work she enjoys yoga, handicrafts, and watching movies with friends.
